Offshore Outsourcing and Data Security

According to some studies, employees from different parts of the world have different ways of using and handling important business data. Different countries have different cultures and these cultures play a very important role in their information usage and handling. For example, not all countries have the same level of data security measures. The United States gives high importance to network and data security to make sure that unauthorized people could not gain access to some of their important data and information. Employees from some countries have developed a habit of talking to their friends or family members about the things that keep them busy. They talk about the jobs they have accomplished and latest projects they are working on. If they are not careful enough, they could reveal some of the most important information that is meant to be confidential between the company and the employee. These countries are usually not very concerned about worms, attacks, and other kinds of security threats. This could lead to a high risk of unauthorized data and information access. Some countries are not too tight when it comes to office security especially when the visitor is someone they know. They just let visitors hang around the office where they could easily see what the employees are working on by just looking at the computer monitor. Another thing that could cause a threat to data security is the computer or laptop that foreign employees use to do the job. They will store the data or sensitive information in their computer or laptop that they also use for their personal function. Most freelancers nowadays use their computer at home or use their personal laptop so they could take their work at home.
